nice man thanks i'll def be getting that. My project started as a budget deal but now i am to the point of you know what let's slow it down and do it right once. It actually costs less in the end that way i think .

axeugene27,

“Do it right” is way to go

Don’t forget to do what makes you happy too!

Sorry Sonreir, next project I’ll check with you first.

Might want to take the paint off at the lip of the fill tube on the tank. The gas cap gasket will probably get stuck on it otherwise...

Starting to look very nice. Did you tear the engine apart for polishing?

Also...did you still have the original seat or did you sell it already? I might be interested.

Thank you 3DogNate, will do.

OJ, I didn’t polish engine, a bit cleaned.
I’m not sure yet of polishing or powder coating.

Update on project;

Compression ratio is 9.3, 170 is good. I wouldn't do any more.
I would check advancer springs after you get motor running as they look a bit rusty (oil them)
Check advancer as well, there may be some corrosion in pivots, etc
Did you check 'full bump' clearance before you stripped rear wheel, it would suck to have tyre contact bottom of seat

Thank you crazypj,

Advancer plate assembly was removed cleaned and lubricated; installed new contact breaker points and adjusted to 0.35mm; checked timing marks “LF” and “F” for points opening. I’ll follow with timing when I start the engine.

I did check 'full bump' clearance per photo below and I hope I’ll be fine (I’m 160 pounds). Time will tell.

Thank you deepwaterimports,

Front shocks are powder coated.

Cool, as long as there is minimal clearance you'll be fine.
If anything can touch, it will eventually

Project update;

Installed clip-ons and learned that there is no room to adjust brake master cylinder for comfortable front brake lever position.

The rear fender does look a bit off center, but more importantly, it needs to come forward by quite a bit. You have nothing protecting from the probability that debris will be flung forward toward your engine.

bike looks hot man. I wouldn't want to put anything to cover the rear tire either. Just don't plan on riding in the rain and i don't see the big deal. The 350 has a diff frame which allows better for this fenderless look.

is that fender connected to the frame seems like it will hit the rear tire when you hit a pebble. I personally like the fendered look. but that's just me.

did you have a pro painter do your paint if you don't mind me asking what did he charge you. I am pricing a few guys right now and have no base for cost.

Thanks Sonreir,

Yes, fender was off center due temporary install to see if the tail light/plate bracket would work/look fine.

Thanks axeugene27,

Fender was only connected to frame by OEM fender hanger, in front and plastic cup on tire as spacer (temporary install).
I like the look and have same concerns if tire will hit fender in drive.

I had painter do my paint;

Black (frame, wheels, …) powder coated total $400 by Villain Motorsports in Winnipeg MB.
See link for pricing;

Fuel tank and seat (red) painted by friend paid materials only $160

I say this alot, probably because its what I like, but any chance you could move the headlight down and inward? It's really hanging out there...

Looks like the wheel isn't centered, you didn't swap the axle spacers side to side?
