74 CB360T "True ° North 360°"

That is the plan PJ,

I’m trying to make it move while I have leverage on kick-start and generator. Injected WD40 in cylinder, and making small moves back and forth on generator and kick-start to free it up. After that I hope that piston will go out of cylinder easier when taking engine apart.

Cool, how long as it been soaking?
If you have any movement, it will free off to make getting it apart easier

Last night when I checked it was soaked for 24h and seemed to move tiny bit.

I’m not in rush and don't want to force it.

That sounds good, patience is most important 'tool' when working on bikes ;)

Project update;

Try to start bike today and it’s no go. When cranking, you could hear odd ignition.

Checked spark on spark plug OK,
Contact gap 0.35 on L and R when opened
Left breaker start opening when generator mark on LF (checked with light)
Right breaker start opening when generator mark on F (checked with light)

Checked spark plug and looked dry,

Carbs are off the bike,

Right float valve spring stuck,
Disassembled floats to clean and adjust.
Removed jets to inspect and clean.

Removed vacuum piston and one membrane is punctured in couple places;

Suggestions are welcome;

looking good :)

no rear sets on the list? ???

where are you going to mount the battery? will it be part of the splash gaurd? thgis is what I have in mind for mine 8)

Re-fit passenger pegs for now and use them as rear-sets when your rolling.
You will be surprised how quick you get used to rear set footrest and how much more comfortable they are
Rear brake isn't an issue, you should be doing at least 70% of braking with front brake

Thank you Pandknz,

Yes seat is on the list.
I’m going to local battery shop tomorrow to find size options for 7Ah.

PJ that is definitely one of the options, for now I’m focusing to get bike on the road, I’m from Canada, we could get some snow any time now :eek: LOL.

Is that the gap for the plugs or the points? It should be about .015" on the points but .035" is fine for plugs (I'm assuming the lack of a zero is a typo).

Metric ::)
0.35mm= about 0.014"
;D ;D ;)

You did put some sort of sealer over the holes in diaphragm?

Yes that was metric “mm”. ::)

I didn’t put any sealer; holes are visible only when diaphragm is stretched.

Thank you PJ, for now I will use one from CJ360.
