I picked this up a couple days ago. They hadn't run it for 2 years. I had to clean the carbs and points, buy a new battery, and adjust the clutch to aleviate the common "pop" on these bikes.

Seems to run pretty good. Has tons of compression and dosn't smoke. It has Duro retro looking tires... still have the "tits"!!!

Plans for it include:

stipped down, and cleaned up, "all the extras" removed, and frame repainted

Roc city alloy gp race tank and seat pan

Relocate battery, clean up the wireing, lose the signals and horn.

30mm mikunis from speed moto co. on ebay

Pods

CL360 exhaust w/mufflers hacked off

rear sets

Clip ons

Polish side covers

Paint rims and spokes black

and probably much more by the time I'm finished.

Re: '75 cb360t. I hope to go all out.

Me too cuz mine runs like shit on pods. Lemme know how the mikunis do. I need to mess with my carbs.

Dirtbag, I'm the one that emailed you a few days ago. Your tank and seat is the same as what I'm hoping to do from roc city. BTW, are yours alloy or glass?

I got the carbs ordered last night, as well as a bunch of other stuff. I got carbs (supposed to be jetted for my bike with pods and straight pipes at 765 feet elevation, we'll see) pods, intake manifolds, cables, headlight brackets, fork gators, a retro taillight, and an impact driver set, all for under $450 shipped. That is all from brian at speed moto co. http://www.speedmotoco.com/

I also ordered tarozzi universal rearsets and tarozzi 33mm clip-ons from fast from the past http://www.speedmotoco.com/

The Plan as of now is to get everything set up the way I want it, and then tear down again to clean and paint. So it might get ugly for a while.

Re: '75 cb360t. I hope to go all out.

They aren't going to be jetted correctly. They never are from companies like this. When they buy their carburetors from distributors like SUDCO, they come jetted for more common applications than our old bikes, and they are usually WAY too high. It isn't a big deal, it just takes some fiddling. Let me know when you get close to time to put them on. I am rocking VM30s on Gretta, and I can probably get you pretty close on jetting. It's a pain to get there otherwise.

I hear you. I am doubtful, but I figured I'd give them a chance. They said they weren't using sudcos jetting; hopefully they get it close. So what jets settings are you currently running on Gretta? I plan to post what the carbs I get are set at, and then post any changes I make to make it easier on the next guy.

Re: '75 cb360t. I hope to go all out.

Today I ordered a cr style alloy tank from Sean at Roc City. It's gonna be a long few months waiting on it. I'm holding off on a seat until I get the tank. Not sure what I want to do there yet, but I like alloy!!!

Re: '75 cb360t. I hope to go all out.

Starting to get real busy with harvest, so it may go slow for a while. I got my cl pipes and heat guard. No pics yet, but I like the look.

As far a a seat goes, I like the look of real short seat pans. I'll have to make sure it matches up well with the skinny rear of the cr tank.
I like these from airtech

I would just buy a glass one, but alloy is so nice!!! Have to see if sean can do something like that for me.

Plus, I wouldn't have to worry about my crappy painting skills

Re: '75 cb360t. I hope to go all out.

I have ordered shouldered rims from mike's XS to lace to stock hubs. I'm planning to switch to a drum front for looks. The rims will be 2.15x18 up front, and a 2.50 in the rear. I can't decide if I should powdercoat the wheels black with chrome spokes and polished hubs, or leave them silver with polished hubs and spokes.

Re: '75 cb360t. I hope to go all out.

I was also able to modify the stock guage mounts to hold the ignition key switch too. I'm going to drop them along with the headlight about 3 inches. I'll post pics when I get time.

Re: '75 cb360t. I hope to go all out.

I got the carbs. They came with 150 mains, 30 pilots, 6f4 needles in the middle position, 2.5 cutout slide and 159 p-5 for the needle jet. They aren't perfect, but good enough for now. Kanticoy is running a 159 P-0 needle jet, a 27.5 pilot, and 6dh4 needle. Everything else is the same.

Re: '75 cb360t. I hope to go all out.

how many miles on the engine? I could probably give you a few tips on what's going to break given the mileage, pj is a great source as he builds the crap out of these motors

Re: '75 cb360t. I hope to go all out.

about 7500 miles... BTW How is my tank coming? I think it will really make the bike stand out.

Re: '75 cb360t. I hope to go all out.

in queue, it takes me about a week to make one, but I have to do the bunch in front first ;D

Re: '75 cb360t. I hope to go all out.

I finally got my front wheel laced up to the mike's xs 2.15x18 shouldered wheel. I used chrome spokes from the ebay seller in asia. Polished the hub, painted the inner part of the hub black with appliance epoxy.
My Wife didn't like the grease stains I left on the living room carpet while lacing it. I wasn't thinking... thank goodness for simple green and a bissel little green machine
I really enjoyed lacing it up after I figured out the pattern. I'm not sure how the truing will go. A local bicycle shop agreed to true them for me for $35 if I couldn't do it.

At first when I read "greedy" I thought "Greddy" as in turbo... A turbo cafe racer!!! ::) lol

Just curious if you went with a drum and have your disc front parts available? I have a '74 cb360 with a drum and want to do the opposite swap as you. I would either by parts or we could work out a swap or whatever works. I am in Iowa by the way.

I am looking to maybe swap the whole front end for a 550's so I can go up to a 35mm fork and bigger disc but I would be happy to just swap parts with you if we could work something out.

Thanks again and I will certainly be following your build.

Yes, I went with a drum brake front, and still have the disc brake setup. Pm or email me if you are interested.

I got the front wheel trued. I didn't have a dial indicator, so I used a piece of copper wire. There is almost no hop, and the lateral run out is a little more than a business card (a little more than 0.01".) I figure that's good enough.

wow, been a while Here it is with Sean's tank and seat. My questions is, do I paint the frame black, or go with a silver. Also, how do I paint up the engine?

Curious, have you fired it up w/ those exhaust tips on it? I have the same pipes on my 450 and have been thinking about getting those tips. Is it pretty loud still. I lost my baffles out of my pipes and the 450 is ear piercing w/o mufflers.
