750 Doch wiring

Looking to most of the work on this bike myself, but I have no idea were to start with new wiring on a doch cb750. I want the bare bones, nothing else. Were do I start? This is my weakest point for sure. I understand the concept of how a electrical system works on a bike, but do not know whats needed and what can be done away with. My goal is to have neatly tucked electrical under cafe seat cowl with batt. No rats nest. I want to do it right.

Hey, I can send you my dohc 750 wring schematic that I drew in Illustrator for my bike.
I ran all the wiring under the seat and only run headlight & tail light.

I built my entire harness from scratch and used all new wire & connectors.
Bought a connection kit and tool from
http://www.vintageconnections.com/

My bike fired up and ran perfectly the first time, so the schematic is good.

That would be great. Is it for the DOHC Or single?

This is for a DOHC 1979-82 CB750.
It locates the starter solenoid, ignitors, battery to the rear of the bike.
It uses a 3 fuse block at the front.

You will notice my gauge lights are on there, but you can easily eliminate those.

Hope this helps.
I spent a lot of time working through the original wiring harness and schematics.

Posting for future referance...
Good stuff, going to print it off when I get home from work.

Great.
I would have liked finding this before I built my bike, but happy to share with fellow builders of DOHC cb750s.

Awesome schematic! Quick question...I have the rear left and right turn signals isolated with the light blue and orange wires but which three wires control the stop/tail light/ground? 1981 CB750k.
