76 360 brake light...... again.....

So I burned up my reg/rec the other day, but thats another story and my brake light has been stuck in the brake engaged position.
I unplugged the foot switch and the front brake switch and its still engaged, any one have any ideas on how to fix?

I reversed the wires, brow is hooked into green with yellow stripe and green with yellow stripe is hooked into brown, and now when i engage the handle i have brakes but if i release i have nothing, no running lights and tag lights so effectively i cant ride at night
any help would be appreciated

Rear brake switch is adjustable, back it off
Front is hydraulic, you probably have a wire trapped/grounded

I appreciate the quick response, I assumed that it was a wiring issue since I replaced the burned out components and had recently re wired the entire back in, turns out it was something more simple... embarrassingly simple... the light had burned out, I will from now on check the simple stuff first before the complicated matters.
