My pop's old bike, we took her out of the barn for the first time since 86 and now she is running like a champ. Tell me what you think!

I have a question: Although I don't plan on riding this in the rain (obviously with the lack of fenders), I feel like I should somehow guard the battery box which is mounted on the swing arm. Any suggestions other than an ugly interior fender?

Maybe you could get something flat to mount flush with the top or bottom of the frame that runs from the battery box to the hoop. I'm thinking something like skateboard, or some type of poly sheet or better yet a thin piece of sheetmetal.

The only thing I don't like about these types of posts are they are like "Here is what it was when I started. Here is it finished." all in one or two posts. Because it's all in just a couple of posts it seems like it took no time at all. And here I am starting on year #3 working on the same ol' busted bike that seems like it's going nowhere.

But really - bike looks awesome. I love the pipes.

I like to see the work as well, but in some cases not everything can be documented and some people just dont think about it. I started into my bike and have few pictures because it's a present for my wife. No pictures means she wont find out about it.

To the OP - looks great! well done!

If you get caught in the rain the rear tyre will soak your pods....and the front tyre will probably drown your coils.

Mudguards don't always look cool but they are rad when it rains ;)

I know - I wish I had taken more time to kinda walk everyone through the build... Especially when we were building the seat and chopping down the rear portion, but it wasn't even on my mind. My pops and I are gonna start on a cb maybe sometime next fall-winter. I'll make sure to be more thorough with keeping you updated on that one. :-\
