78 CB400 mags fit 73 CB500?

There is a guy locally selling a set of 78 CB400 mags with tires and I was wondering if anyone was familiar with the sizing and whether or not they would fit my 73 CB500Four I was thinking this would be a nice set to powder coat and still keep my original wheels , well, original.

Well, the CB400 axle from that year says its 20mm. The axle from a 73 CB500 says 20mm as well, so thats a great start....although the cb400 says left and the cb500 says right. Check this lovely list here :

The only difference it seems might be the speedo drive etc. because I tried to cross-reference those and they definitely are NOT the same. So with some spacers and some sweat you might be able to use it just fine. That's my .02.
