78 kz 400 Rear sets

Has anyone put a set of rearsets on a 78 kz 400. Im looking to mount them a little forward and up from the passenger pegs. Viet has sets for a very reasonable price and could make some for the passenger pegs. I am thinking of buying the sets from viet making my own bracket where i want them. The only thing left is the linkage. Any ideas on how to go about making my own or buying a kit. is bending/fitting hard? or is this a perfect fit operation?

any thoughts or info?

Look into heim joints.
