Yeah that is one nice think about living in the middle of no where. I'm in central Pennsylvania. (Amish country). There is an amazing twisty canyon road about 3 miles from my house. There is some awesome riding out here.
Thats awesome i have to play russian rulet when i ride !

My dad and I went on a little longer ride today. She ran great. Passed Inspection. My poor wiring skills worked well enough to get a sticker ;D The only thing that suck, is that somewhere between my house and the bike shop I lost a mirror. :(

I made a new bushing for the mirror I still have (so it fits in the bars better) so now I need to decide.....do I want to order another mirror to match or do I want to get new mirrors all together??? I also thought about just running one mirror and making brass bar end for the other side that would hold my rolled up registration and insurance cards. What do you think? I also have a wobble from the front tire. I thought I needed to true up the wheel but when I put the indicator on it I only had .006 runout that is well within specs. Then I notice while sppining the wheel that the runout was in the tire. It almost looks like the bead on the tire sits deeper into the rim in one spot than another. The tires are brand new avons and the tubes are new and the correct size. Psi is good. I tried deflating the tire and making sure the tire is sitting where it should. Any thought/suggestions? It's not that far out, just enough to bug me. Thanks

huh, it sounds like u did everything right, thats what happened to my friends rear wheel. I like the idea of the rolled up insurance papers in the bars.

Yeah I don't get it. My only thought is that I either got a bad tire or a mismarked tube. I really hope it's not the tire. $125. Any ideas????

Did you happen to use tire lube (insert joke here) ;D

I found that mine did the same unless I lubed them up good. I heard you should NOT use soap and water because of some chemicals in soap that can eat away at the rims. Not sure if it's true, but I bought some tire lube at my local shop and have been happy since! Hope that works for ya.

I think I got it all figured out. I put about 5psi in the tire and rolled it around the driveway for awhile. I pumped it up and now it seems fine. I prefer to go lube free, (for the tire of course) ;)

It happens...in fact it happened to me today! And I brought it in to the dealer by me....I got lazy and didn't want to do it on my friends ninja 250, they couldn't get it to seat at all! I told them to put a tube in it and pump it up and let it sit for an hour or so, they called after 2 hours and said the trick worked! Tire must have been on a pallet or something weird.

Get some more miles on that thing now!!

I plan on it! if it ever stops raining. We have been having flooding. Over 7" in the last 3 days

Re: 78 kz400 cafe build (Riding)

I went on a nice little ride today. Put on a few miles. I took my GPS to check the airspeed. It was pretty close. 30 on the air speed 33ish on the gps. I am working on a better rubber mount because the needle jumps alot at high RPM. I'm just pleased that it works. I had her up to 72mph on the gps, no problem.
