are the floats and all hardware with the carbs good? what do you want for them?

Yes the floats are brass and they are in working order. The needle valves have been removed and cleaned, and then put back in. The carbs have been cleaned inside with spray cleaner.

yeah its all in there but thats gonna be a bit more work to take it out. Let me see if i can pull the starter, clutch, and chain out and ill get back to you on a price tomorrow.

currently the bike cranks over nicely so i know all the parts are in working order.

Have you tried taking a screw driver and making connection between the two bolts on the starter relay? (or just hooking a battery directly to the bolt coming out of the starter)

This would rule out your starter switch.

It turns over but it sounds like it just grinds, or doesn't catch anything

Alright modified im betting its your clutch that went bad. I pulled my starter out and it just has a chain that goes to the clutch that sits underneath the flywheel.

Therein lies my problem because i dont have the proper tools to remove the flywheel. Im gonna see what i can do, but i doubt ill be able to get it off there.


Theres not much on the starter that could cause a grinding noise unless the gear on the end went bad. It must be the engage pieces on your clutch.
