79 KZ750 Twin brat thingy

Picked up a 79 KZ750 a couple weeks back. It ran, drove and stopped, not bad for $600.

Decided to go with a softtail build on this one. Mocked up the bike with a 10.5" strut to simulate the shorter shocks for now. Swapped a set of dirtbike renthal bars I had hanging around as well.

Going to be reworking the entire upper section of the frame so I can run a Hodaka tank Ive been saving for a build. Tank is just sitting there. Still needs to be lower and forward a bit. I'm converting the frame over to a single backbone from the 3 bar style it is stock.

Got the frame cut up some. Tacked in the new backbone peice. Its some 1-3/8" DOM I had at the shop left over from a friends Jeep. Sleeved 4" into the stock frame and drilled some holes in the stock frame for some plug welds. Ill plug weld and then fully weld it in after its all mocked up. going to cut up a CB900F frame I have for some curved seat rails.

Bought this solo seat off ebay today. Im on the fence with it right now Ill have to wait to see how it looks on the bike.

Cleaned up some other pieces of the frame I cut off that Im going to repurpose and use. Going to try and get a set of Shinko 705's to fit. I have to check the rear if there is enough room for a 4.10-18. It looks like there is so hopefully that will work.
