80s repli racer for the street here's to you Freddie DONE!!!!

Re: 80s repli racer for the street

Thanks guy, I have been trying to take this one a little slower, Painting the upper fairing now, worked out the head light will post when I get it painted a decals on. The bike is at the mechanic getting some love, but I always love when I get a bike out of the confines of my little sunroom were I build them, It alway seems they come alive in their first light of day.

Re: 80s repli racer for the street

Made some good progress this weekend! Now I just need the bike back.

Re: 80s repli racer for the street

Wow bradwsm, cant believe I missed this up until now...

Awesome build. :)

That rear body work is the icing on the cake for me. It's so-badass-80's-race-bike. Its ridiculous, yet beautiful at the same time.

Funny, just recently read an article on the year Mr (we salute you) Fast Freddie won the 250 and the 500cc world championship in the same year.

BTW - That sun room of yours looks just about the nicest place to build a bike man! I want one of those!

Here's an NSR 250 I had in my little folder of inspiration. Obviously a 90's bike with aftermarket kit, but, ya know.
Warning: Smoking can kill you, but the Rothmans livery sure wont.

Re: 80s repli racer for the street

Oh, and dig the single round headlight... very nice design touch. Its almost kinda 70's - you'd expect a double light setup for an 80s bike, but it works really well...

Re: 80s repli racer for the street

Should have gone dual lights up front...but then again I'm pretty biased. Awesome looking paint man.

Re: 80s repli racer for the street

Thanks for the words guys, SquadraCorse I dont care what you think!!!! Just kidding, It was a tough call with the lights, I originaly was going to do a single off set like 1990s endurance racers but it would have taken hours of fiberglassing to get it to look right with the shape of the fairing, so in the end 70s endurance style won. Dale that is a cool rothmans, That is kind of why I wanted to build this bike, you always see the 1990s style but I have never seen a true 80s rothmans, Yes there are ns400s with the paint but the body work is nothing like the racers.

Re: 80s repli racer for the street

Ive been watching this thread for a long time and damn is that bike sick. Something like that is now on my 'must have' list. fantastic job with it. just awesome.

Just got caught up on what you've done lately. Stellar work, mate. I'm in love with it.

Re: 80s repli racer for the street heres to you Freddie
