81 kz650 winter blues. need seat ideas.

Well it is winter in good ol' North Dakota. And I have been wanting to do away with the horrible 2 up seat on my KZ. There are a lot of seat ideas I like, but I seem limited with the 2 up frame I have. I don't really want to go into cutting the frame up on this bike, since I want to be riding the day it is nice enough to do so. I'll throw a couple pictures up of what I am working with right now. I keep going back and forth on a cafe look, or a tracker(ish) look to the seat. But who knows, I might end up something totally different. Any input is appreciated! I hate that Kaw went with a 2 up frame.





I do plan on detabbing the rear of the frame, and doing a led brake light.

You're right, these frames kind of suck for custom seats without a ton of work. I know you said you didn't want to chop, bit you can quickly move that rear loop forward and point it up for a shorter, bobbed look. Put a better fender on it and have a looker (of sorts). Here is what I did to my 81. Not the best, but it got me through the summer.
