Looking good man
thanks man. it turned out awesome. I'm going to have to take the engine apart this winter. the head gasket has a really slow oil leak. I usually have to wash the oil off of the front of the engine once a week.

I understand that - my 450 had such a continuous leak under the CCT that I had a rag permanently stuffed underneath. And my 650 had a bad oil pan gasket so it always had drops underneath .

You have 37mm forks, correct? Notice any handling issues with no front fender?

not that I have noticed. I still have the fender. we cut it down and were still planning on putting it back on. I was thinking of just cleaning the brace up and mounting that. I'm sure it would be a little more stiff if I put something between the forks.

Have you noticed any power loss or anything from running those mufflers? What did you end up doing to the carbs? I have this exact same bike and I believe they have different carbs entirely than the older models where you could raise the needles up.

It's definitely running lean. I'm probably going to have to jump up two sizes on the carbs. I'm also going to try to re seal my air box to see if that helps any. Its not enough to keep me from riding. Its just a little sluggish when its cold.

Are you keeping those? I'd be interested in buying one from ya if you're willing to sell one. Or both. Either way.

It looks like you used the original key latch system to hold the seat on; do you have any pics of how you fabbed that up, the seat pan and the frame side?

Also, I have this same bike (build thread linked in my sig) and I found a way to run the cheap pods. I took the boots out of the factory airbox and put them in place of the boots on the emgo's. They fit pretty dang good right over the "velocity stack" part of the boot. I also hacked off my factory mufflers right at the back of the mounting bracket and installed a stage 3 kit in the carbs and overall it's running pretty dang good. I do need to reset the float levels since I don't think I got them right initially and it's running out of fuel once in a while. Either that or something else in the fuel supply system is causing a blockage/slow down.

I'll have to take a look at your thread. I will take some pics of the bottom of the seat tonight for you.
