82' KZ440 Cafe' Brat Build: Carb tuning & exhaust fly by!

Just read the build from beginning to end and realized I've been stalking your bike on YouTube haha. Thanks for all your detail. I took notes! Seriously love what you have done. Once I can get through my engine problems on my 82 kz440 belt, my bike will be taking a number if inspiration points from yours. Thanks a ton for sticking with the standard frame and doing your seat the way you did! I've been thinking the same! I love the sound of your bike!

I'm not a fan of 'brat' seats, however I have to admit I do think yours looks good.
Lovely build.

Lovely build.

Thank you!

Thinking of little winter projects on the bike.

-Relocating front turn signals
-LED or HID Bulb
-New speedo, smaller...?

I thought the same thing. Would be much cleaner and I can throw my LG G3 on there or use an older device for strictly the speedo and such.

Currently only running the stock speedo, I can potentially use the bracket I made for it for the smartphone speedo.

Thanks for the info, I feel I may have read that some time ago. I'll bookmark it just in case.

Rode around Saturday as it was in the 60's and did a good cleaning before storing her for the winter.

I have been following you for awhile and love what you have done. Did you cut the stock exhaust or but a 2 in 1? Also what kind how did you attach the sheet metal and seat to the bike? Thank you for your time and beautiful bike brother.

Exhaust is the stock main pipes centered under the engine, welded a 2-1 collector onto it then had a 1.5" pipe bent to the curve desired. 12" stainless muffler clamped onto it.

I didn't see any exhausts out there the style I wanted so I made my own setup. Minus the bent pipe I welded and did everything myself.

Seat pan is 14g steel bent to the frame, 3 layers of camping mat, 2 layers of soft cell foam, upholstered with pleats, glued to the pan.

Seat is easily removable by 2 studs welded to the pan that goes through the top bar of the frame. Fastened with wing nuts.

Thank you, much appreciated

Nothing new. Rode her around today for a bit. Ended up finding a good jet combo and she runs decent finally. Plugs are a nice tan which was the goal.

New job/career, 2 brand new vdubs and hopefully a baby on the way.

So I better get riding some done this summer and mod my new 15' with coil overs and 18's.
