83 Honda GL650

I have a 83 Honda GL650, i'm looking to build into a cafe.

I am basing a lot on this article i found, http://www.uniquebike.com/bikes/2015/02/rays-gl650-cafe-racer.aspx

Right now, i'm looking to do a fork swap, the article listed above says he used a CBR929, but i've seen people on CBs and CXs using CBR600 and CBR1000 front ends.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Hey,
CBR600's are more readily available and the bearings can be had at AllBallsRacing
But any of the CBR's 600cc and up should do you just fine

The Fireblade forks look the part. They have 28mm long (axle to the top cap) forks. I would choose the set that matches your stock length so you can keep the geometry better sorted.
