85 Honda VT rear suspension

Howdy guys. Im fairly new to working on bike so I'll more than likely be asking on a lot of how to do things the right way

Anywho my question. My shadow has 14" shocks on the back and I want to drop it down to about 12". I know this will change the rake and trail among many other gemotrical stances on my bike, I was wondering what other issues will occur from this drop in height?

Thankyou for the answers. I was incredibly worried about the shaft and handling alone and completely forgot how the frame and forks might react from the stress. Thanks again. Hopefully I'll have it out of the shop running again so I can get to work on the rear fender and seat
