86 Radian down

Hey all, I was riding home from school last week, and while going up a hill at about 70mph, a knock or tapping sound started coming from the bike. I pulled to the side of the freeway and as I pulled the clutch in, the bike died. I tried to restart it, but as it cranked, the knocking noise was still there and it would not stay running. Finally, it just stopped doing anything, as if something got stuck.

I dont know much about motorcycles other then the basics, but I am mechanically inclined. And I know this is not a lot of info to go off of, but, my question is, does this sound like something that has happened to others before? Is this maybe something I can fix on my own without spending more then the bike is worth? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

hmmm......could be any number of things. Start with the small stuff though: Is the battery charged? Not out of gas? And check your oil level too.

It could be a minimal issue, or it could be a complete money pit. Just can't say with any certainty until you know what the problem is.
