A new lust. RC162 replica using a CBR250RR motor....

Mad Science!
DTT BOTM WINNER
Just found another bike for me to dream of building. I think that the parts should be readily obtainable, albeit from overseas....

RC161 replica using a CBR250RR motor. The motors are common anywhere but the US, and the frame should be fairly easy to duplicate. The tanks and seat of course are being reproduced by Airtech. I think this would be an awesome project!!!

Such a badass idea.

siiiiicccckkkk!! i have a friends 250rr hurricane in my living room right now repairing a few cracks in the fairings and i have to say,im a HUGE fans of the 18,000 rpm redline!!

Yeah man it's such a sick little motor! If I can find a motor somewhere that I can ship to the states, I'm building one. Period. You lucky small cc overseas guys keep your eyes open for me!

it is cool but man... i am 230, i would swamp that thing. i need a big bike for a big boy

Oh I think it would tote you man! Your CB350 bob only has a hopeful 28 HP. This little sucker is lighter weight and has 48HP stock and an 18000 RPM red line   !

It would carry you fine!

the cbr250rr is one of the few modern bikes i love... 18k redline? jesus.

mix that with the rc162 and its a wet dream. Nice find!

If any one comes up with a hookup for the CBR250RR motors, post that shit.
I need one for one of these:http://www.kikker5150.com/hardknock.html

Go to ebay.com.au (Australian eBay) and search for 'CBR 250 engine' or 'CBR 250 motor'. You'll most likely get a hit on one thats good to go.

Thanks Boingk! All so far are full bikes. But they look sweet ;)
Not a lot of depreciation on that model.

I was planning on using a thumper from a dual sport or dirt bike, but that cbr250 is sweet. How is that better than the Kawasaki 250 ninja motors that are everywhere?

The ninja 250 is a twin, capable of 10krpm I believe and the cbr is a wee 4-banger that'll spin 15krpm plus a tetch...

so, fair bit of difference.

those ninja 250's are soooooooooo weak! I mean weak weak weak! I would use a cr250 2cycle before I used the ninja 250, hell that cr 250 would be a hoot!

GREAT GOOGELY-MOOGELYS!!! I didn't realise the Honda was a four. I shoulda known by the redline. I bet that sounds sweet. ;D
I was planning on a 250-450 thumper, due to the style of the bike.

But....but.....18,500rpm!!!

Think 'enraged mosquito' and you have a good idea what one sounds like on song...
Now, a 4-4 open exhaust could only make that glorious wail more stirring!

Yeah....I wish I weighed 'buck fiddy or so.....I could ride one. I haven't seen the south side of that since the 6th grade.
You little guys get all the fun pint size scoots..... :-[
