Howdy!
This is my first post on the forum, but I've been checking it out for a few months for ideas and info.
Long story short: I bought a used Ace from 2011, which hadn't been driven for 2 years or so by the first owner, then bought by someone who made some mods (new exhaust, remvoed the filter thing), but only did a few 100 KM's.
I'm the 3rd owner and had the bike get a big maintenance at 500KM's, which did wonders to the bike (clutch, stability, startup,...).
Now I'm at 750KM, and haven't had issues at all, except for stalling when the bike wasn't warm enough, my bad.
Yesterday, however, I drove for about 2 hours (bike had been standing still for 10 days) without any problems. I did stop and start 8 or 10 times though, since I had to deliver some letters to people living nearby.
Then, I felt the bike stalling a little, then a little more, and then just dying on me. Waiting it out for 5 minutes, then starting the bike and letting it run idle for some minutes helped a little, but after 3-4 minutes of driving it stalled and died on me again. After 15 minutes of that, the bike didn't feel like starting any more.
I left the bike with my brother and will pick it up on wednesday. I am wondering what the problem could be, though... Was the stopping and starting a bad idea? Did the engine just get too hot? Did I push it by driving for over 2 hours?
Also, there's still plenty of gas, so I know that's not the problem
