Adding Kevlar to jeans?

All the jeans I've found that come with Kevlar in the abrasion areas are ugly as sin, so I found pretty cheap sheets of the stuff on ebay... Anyone ever sewn this into their cool guy jeans? It's like $10 shipped for a piece big enough to do jeans, but I don't know it it'll ruin my wife's sewing machine, or if the stuff on eBay is different than the stuff they'd use for this application (stuff I found is Aramid Twaron). Any advice is appreciated.

I've got a pair if I doubt I will ever use. I have to find them . . . not the coolest style of jeans, but they are Levis. Size W34. Guy had them custom made.
