Oh, that's what it was then. These and the recall ones. I have two different 360 motors. The head castings are different, the top tensioner retainer is different and the tensioner is different. Was the top retainer part of the recall? I could not get it to fit at all with the other tensioner and the other retainer.
When I made them I copied the originals as exactly as I could figuring if they seemed to flex too much or too little I could add or subtract material as needed. But I tested them by piling weights on them and comparing the deflection to the original and I could see no measurable difference. So, first shot lucky.
Kiley said that last time he checked it, it looked to be wearing great. And he's had around another hundred miles since then so far.
Indeed they are. There were hardly any marks on them when last checked. I've got to break in the new rings in Gretta for another couple of hundred miles and then i will pull and inspect. And of course share.
Awesome guys. That's so appreciated. I have the newer recall replacement model with the metal curving INTO the metal side so it's all good. I'll replicate those exactly and "Git Er Done". I'm happy to hear that we actually have someone who has this in a bike testing it. Very cool. As soon as they're ready to ship I'll be putting an ad on here as well as ebay etc. Already have it lined up with Tim.
lol. Ok. Well not really sure yet. I know the aftermarket tensioner for a cb 350 is about $120. I just bought one. So probably about 100 bucks and free shipping. I'll know more within the next few days. At least now I KNOW that it can be done and that they have been reasonably tested out of the same material that I'm going to use. They'll be coming as a set of tensioner/slipper with a lifetime warranty for free replacement. Maybe I should do preorders so I know how many to get done up and help out with manufacturing cost?
Ok, so I talked to a couple machinists today. He'll be doing up a prototype for me. I guess we already know that they work and the more I order the cheaper they get so I've put up a pre order link under "selling". They come as a pair with free shipping for $99.99.
You can reserve yours now through PayPal (legendaryfitness(at)hotmail.com) or call me with cc info (I put it through PayPal virtual terminal).
I'm going to allow 2 weeks on here before placing a mass order.
