She is totally apart right now.. just totally rebuilt the motor. got everything powdercoated satin black (except tank and frame for now).. I still need to clean up the frame a little bit, get it powdercoated, get the spokes powdercoated, build the wheels and start building her back up. I also need some help with fabricating a battery box etc.. unfortunately I do not have access to many tools... anyone?

waiting on Hagon shocks and an Acewell gauge.. debating getting Mikuni VM20s..

hope to see some of you guys before the snow falls!

Sweet.. I've been seeing a bunch of cb200's popping in chicago up lately.

As for the battery box, I'd just buy some sheet metal (for find some scrap.. old computer cases and industrial shelving are good places to look..), make a template out of posterboard, use some sheet metal shears to cut the shape out, smooth the edges, bend the bends using a few c-clamps and a couple 2x4's as straight edges, then take it to a welder or exhaust shop and ask them to weld up whatever seems you want welded.

JRK- I sent you an email a day or two ago about maybe helping out... I live downtown but I am willing to travel for some assistance.. check your email.. it came from ayjay.anderson at gmail dot com

I've decided against powdercoating the spokes.. I'm just going to leave them the polished stainless color but I still need help lacing them.. not sure of the pattern..

4. No club affilation. Well, nothing officially anyway. I have been riding with "Naperville Motorcycle Group" (NMG). Great group of folks but I think I'm the only "cafe guy". It would be great to get together with other like-minded folks!

Hmm... I must have missed this thread somehow. Anyway, I'm here...

clubs: noob so i am not a part of anything at the moment.

took on this project last winter to learn about motors and basic mechanics. got hooked and now i'm looking for another project for next winter. Like i said, i'm a total noob with no experience or tools. everything i did was done in my unheated 2 car garage with basic hand tools and hardware store supplies. loved the project and look forward to learning more the next time around.
