Skye here, new to the cafe scene but always liked the look. Last bike was a Virago 750, very far from cafe material. I recently picked up a 74 CB200 that I plan on working over. I'll attach a few pics and then a pic of the direction I'd love to head with it (even though it's strictly a track bike in the pic)

The bike. $400 Craigslist find:

One of my daughters (my carbon copy) sitting on it. Yes, I plan on buying a lot of firearms soon.

Cracked perch because someone clamped the crap outa it while too far into the curve of the bar:

I think the gas in the tank was a bit old...

Sealant was poured into tank. They also got it on the cap and clogged the breather hole.

Direction I'd like to go with it:

Luckily with the guidance of a good guy here in town, I got it running well enough to get it down the road and pancake the back tire. I cleaned the carbs a bit, synced them as best we could, tightened the chain, adjusted the points, changed plugs and gas, the usual stuff. I ordered new tires (gazelles), tubes and bands. Looking forward to getting those installed. Also planning on getting some clubmans, hopefully I can run the wires without flipping out and setting the thing on fire. We'll see. Hopefully before summer is out it'll be barhopping. Granted, it'll probably be 20mph away from doing the ton, but it'll still be a fun little scoot.

Hey Skye, nice bike! Looks really really good after all those years. All chrome nice and clean, good find for 400!
Don't know if you're planning to overhaul the engine, but if so, check the holes in the gasket between the engine casing, cilinder and top end.
They need to be alligned for oil transport. a lot of camshafts die due to this being overlooked....

My girlfriend (not to bitch about your choice..) has the same bike she's currently converting to a cafe-racer. I have a lot of parts f/s of the cb200.
I know it'll be expensive to ship, but these bikes are hard to find parts for so who knows... Sorry about the grammar, i'm from the Netherlands.

Doesn't look TOO bad- especially not for the price. What's up with the kicker shaft and lever? If you haven't already, check out Stik70's CB200. Plenty of great ideas.

And welcome to DTT!

Thanks all! Not sure if I've seen Stik70's but I'll look now. I think I've copied most every pic of a CB200/200T the web has to offer, so I may know if by face but not name.

Parts can be hard to find, I'll be sure to stick you in my memory bank! Kickstarter, was broken off at the shaft when I got it. I have a new one being shipped to me as to not kill the battery while I'm getting it tuned. The electric starter is 50-50 because the spring isnt functioning properly so I get a good solid engagement every other push of the button.

Be sure to start up a build thread as well. Make a little list of what you may need- a lot of Honda parts can exchange. Especially the smaller scoots. Did you see re small Honda list I created in the "build collections" area?

Oh ya- Stik's cb200 was featured on Pipeburn recently. So you may have seen it.
