Hand made aluminum alloy cafe boat tails made by some guy in Germany.
Two notes:
1) He doesn't speak english
2) He doesn't take paypal

but he does take money transfers. it's a lot riskier then PayPal, but a lot of people don't use pay pal in Germany

Holy Batshit!! i need one of those...i wonder if any of those would fit a GS...i doubt it
whats that cost in US dollars??

It looks like he starts them at about the equiv of $1.
It would be worth talking to a german firend and having him better translate. It says he ships worldwide. I'd be interested. They look like nice quality.

Wonder if he can make to order??? that would be interesting to know..

Here's a rough translation of the CB550 one:

Wonderful, one of a kind; and not available in stores!!! Marvelously suitably for beautiful cafe a Racer change. We offer here a pre--polished aluminum hand made item. The metal has a thickness of 2 mm. I believe everyone who has expertise on hand made metalwork, can atess to the amount of labour put into it. If you have any questions or orders when looking at the measurments, I ask to contact you me at the phollowing nunber 0176-23815983 (regular phone, not internet). The seat will look good with an aluminum tank. If the seat face needs to be shorter (depending upon tank), then I can shorten the seat pan. The seat should fit most bikes (as seen in the pictures) on the framework of a CB 550 and the Tonti frame of the large Guzzi of models and on many other classical motorcycle models. Laverda, Honda CB, BSA, triumph or other Caferacer changes should look good as well, and of course on other motorcycles such as Ducati. So, now roughly measure your bike and make me an offer!!! You'll love it. Search for: Guzzi Ducati Laverda Honda BSA AJS triumph Enfield Norton aluminum tank aluminum tank aluminum peak Yamaha SR 500 XS 650 cafe Racer, Giuliari, Rickman Van Veen, Old Style, Bobber, Harley Davidson. Shipping expenses to Italy, Spain etc. amount is 20 euros, and Switzerland 32 euros. A picture shows the seat in the "original state" 18 a tariff fender (fender) blank is set beside. We offer here on a UNIKAT!

I've watched his auctions from time to time - keeps on making and selling them. I considered one for my project bike, but ended up going more traditional for now. Might go this route in the future - they sure look nice.

Man i wish i knew German, id ask him if he could make to size and the cost of that...Those are just plain gorgeous.

So I just saw this post and figured I'd send this dude an email. I asked about a seat for a cb550 and he replied in German.

"Hallo, wenn Sie mir die Maße angeben kann ich Ihnen einen Höcker für eine cb 550 anfertigen. Der Preis liegt bei 169 Euro incl. Versandkosten.
Gruß Markus Marburger"

I went to a free translation website and converted it:

Hello, if you me the mass indicate can I you a hump for a cb 550 prepare. The price is about 169 Euro incl. Shipping charges. Greeting Markus Marburger.

169 euro is $262 CDN

Thats not too bad a price for a hand made seat that would last the test of time.

Yep - pretty good for a handmade alloy seat - just don't forget you need to upholster (or at least stick some padding on it) and mount it.

Well, $260 isn't exactly 'cheap' I wouldn't say. These are pretty simple forms for an experienced metal worker with the right equipment. He probably knocks these out in an hour or two tops (just a guess of course, as I'm not an experienced metal worker).

You also need to ship it over from Germany or whereever. That will run you another $50 I'd say at least.
