Alternative to 1987 GPZ550 stock tank

I'm new here, so hello all.

In the process of making some alterations to my 1987 GPZ550 and want to mount a different tank as the stock one has the digital gauges mounted on the top and once removed leaves a large gap revealing the frame.

I'm interested to know what other tanks would fit and what I should be looking for regarding the mount sizings (if any).

Would older versions of the GPZ550's fit or perhaps a GPZ305's tank?

Thanks

I've been stripping my 550 down over the last while, and those dang LED fuel gauges are so annoying.

I've just ripped them off and smoothed the tank down.

Thanks for answering MaxBell,

I plan to leave the tank unpainted with a layer of clear coat to seal it up so filling it in may look a little like a patch up.

I thought about adding a mesh layer inside the gap and I think this may end up being so.

I wanted to change the tank to slightly alter the side profile and take the dip towards the floor away in front of the forks. Give it a more sit up and beg look.

This is the first time I've attempted a customisation and as I'm in Wales in the UK, there doesn't seem to be anyone nearby who's customising bikes and therefore no-one's brains I can pick.
