On last nights show the guys were at a motorcycle graveyard somewhere in Mississippi. Old guy 'Vic' said that he had 2000 motorcycles foreign and domestic. I saw plenty of 70's bikes in the 5 acres. They bought 2 1920's frames.
I did see it (I love that show)! The old guy seemed to not wan't to part with much! I have found that several of the bike yards around the south either don't really want to sell, or they think everything is an antique collectable worth k's!
I watched it too. That dude's gonna have to pass away and his kids are gonna have to get his stuff before it comes up! I couldn't believe the Simplex frames weren't worth more. Those bikes are becoming extra hard to find.
When they were first walking through the yard there I got so excited. Some cool stuff there for sure!
Man, you guys really are family. I was bouncing up and down on the couch last night when that part was on. I want to go there so freakin bad! did you guys hear the part where the county was threatening to just trash all of that stuff? Holy shit...Alex, we need your boom truck....NOW!
My wife accidentally flipped the channel and you woulda thought it was 5 seconds to go in the super bowl. I'm glad she likes the show too. We grew up doing this sort of stuff in the south. Not so much for resale but for necessity. We never called it "pickin" though. We go up to the mountains every few months to do some digging for little things. My dad is always on the search for old gas pumps. He's been into them for about 15 years now.
People are so wound up on nostalgia that everybody thinks they're sitting on a gold mine. They'd rather die with a junk pile than make a special memory for someone else.
Hey guys Im new here I came from the sohc honda forums.
I believe it was in clarksdale. At least that is where the guys on the gun forum was sayin it was.
I am def gonna go. I am in long beach so it is a full day trip...
My dad has been trying to find out where this guy is at. I can't wait to tell him its in clarkdale. they def. were a ton of basket cases at this guys place.
Not sure its in Clarksdale, MS. I live in Northern MS, and I spend alot of time working in Clarksdale and the surrounding area. I was in Greenville, MS and some guy told me about a huge motorcycle scrapyard in Yazoo City, MS. I didnt see the episode, but the way this guy talked, its the same place. I will check it out and post up my findings. Its about 2.5 hours from my house if that is the case
