An obvious throttle cable question that nobody's asking!!!

Alright, so here we go:

I need to shorten the length of my throttle cable. I understand soldering on the new barrel and cutting cables and housing to length, but what about the cable end that attaches to the throttle control side. I see that the elbow unscrews from the cap at the end, but how do I remove that cap and reuse it? It's definitely crimped on, so its next to impossible to remove it without mangling it....or so I think. Anyone have any clue how to tackle this, or where I can get a replacement cap?

Here's what Im talking about:

I am not sure what you are doing. But I have had to make custom throttle cables.

Do not underestimate how complex this is. Or how having a throttle cable stick or break at the wrong time can kill you.
This is a web page that has all sorts of parts. Maybe you can find what you need,

Haha oh no I'm definitely not underestimating the compexity of the project. This bike is just full of so many micro projects, its a little overwhelming now that Im done with the simpler things and down to the punch list. And yes, I have seen that site, but quite frankly Im a little hesitant about doing business with them considering how primitive website is, hell they dont even have a cart feature. Have you done business with Flanders?

Call MotionPro and tell them what ya need. Should run ya about $35, but it WILL be %100 right and you want need to worry. Cheap insurance if you arent sure that you can do it right yourself.

Thanks Von, that's not a bad price considering I'll pay $20 for a set that I'll have to modify anyway. Time to get this ball rollin!
