My contract is up, looking for an android phone. Right now the lead candidate is the Motorola Atrix. Is there anything else interesting coming out soon that I should hold out for? I don't really care what carrier it is.
Thanks in advance!
im a big fan of htc phones (mainly because of htc sense), ive got an evo right now. if i were to get one i would probably look at the thunderbolt, or the soon to be released evo 3d.
Not sure what's coming out but I've had my my Motorola Droid X about 6 months and love it.
Check battery life before you buy a new phone, some smart phones don't even last a day before needing recharged. It depends on how you use your phone and my X goes two or three days sometimes but I'm not a big phone user.
X and others have a Hotspot feature. When you turn Hotspot on then your phone becomes a wireless router that a laptop, printer, etc... can get an internet connection through (up to 4 wireless devices) though not as fast but decent if nothing else is available. I can't ftp through it though
It shoots HD video but don't buy one for that because it doesn't look any better than other videos in my opinion.
Lots of other good stuff with Droids too.
My girlfriend has an iPhone and really wishes she'd gotten the Droid X after I got mine.
Here's a video I shot with my X the other day in bright sunlight (but not on the HD setting): http://youtu.be/q6zghL1k-uo
I have an Xperia x10 and really like it. It has poor support from att but the hackers seems to like it enough to be releasing firmware updates regularly. Just enough buttons to make it useful and a nice touchscreen. I tried the iphone and the lack of tangible buttons made me hate it.
