Can someone take a look at the cafe racer kit at the attached link. Seems like a lot of stuff for $100.00. I'm sure I can do better shopping around but for a once stop shop it doesn't seem unreasonable. I'm trying to get an opinion from anyone that has put the same parts on their bike and what it might have cost.
It's a decent deal if you price the items individually. But those are all stock items from the Emgo catalogue. I've never been a fan of that Viper fairing, it's too big and sits too high. It would look out of proportion if installed on the CB350. The grips are repro Gran Turismos from the 60s.
That's exactly the kind of help I was looking for - thank you. I will keep looking for a fairing. The same shop that sells the kit sells the grips so I can get them, and the bar end mirrors if I want them without the rest of the items.
If you want these exact pieces it's ok, but you can buy them seperately for the same price. You can buy these grips and mirrors anywhere for $35 total, bars are $35 or so and the fairing is worth as much as you like it - very universal.
Just guys cashing in on eBay 'cafe racer' searches.
Being lazy if I can get it as a "kit" for the same price that's OK. I don't want to pay more or end up with something that won't look right which DrJ said is the case with this fairing. Now I need to find one that looks OK for not a ton of money.
I agree with DrJ. the farrings gotta go...and traditionally you only have one bar-end mirror on the left hand side.
So, from that kit, I wouldnt want the farring, or the right had bar-end mirror.
Personally, I think thats way to much...
if you in toronto go to motorcycle super store, bars $35-$100 depending what you want, grips $15, mirror(only one) $20-$40, headlight visor(looks better than fairing) $20, crotch rocket riders drooling at your cafe $priceless ;D
I'm gonna pop in and +1 on the fairing comments...
Who decided that fairing is cafe anyway?
Seems alot of people are selling those generic kits... If it was the clubmans and the barends only and it was 45-50 i'd say go for it.
Grips you can get at any bike shop for 20 bucks... my progrips were under 20.
Anyway... that isn't a "Cafe Racer Kit" this forum is! ;D
