Another Carb tuning question.

Been Around the Block
So after getting spark back, thanks hillsy and Sonreir, I need to start getting the idle under control. The thing I noticed when running it today, besides the crazy high idle was the left pipe got super hot, and it had white exhaust coming out, not a crazy amount but enough. So when tuning the carbs, if that left cylinder is getting pretty hot, will I be ok for a while until I get it under control? It was hot enough it started discoloring the pipe. I'm thinking I need to adjust the throttle adjustment on the left carb, it may be open a little.
To start tuning too, the air mixture screw should be out 1 1/2 turns out, and the idle screw should be two turns in after it's bumped against the spring?
The setup is VM30 Mikunis and K&N air pods on a 74 kz400.

Have you checked the ignition timing as well? Retarded ignition can cause a cylinder to run hot as well as a lean fuel mixture.

I HavenT. Bummer Though, I Was Going To Start But The Left Plug Is Fouled And No Spark?

Plugs fouling.

Wow both my plugs are super fouled. The right cylinder plug is still firing but the left has quit firing. Before I stick new plugs in would it be wise to put in the next smaller jet for the vm30 first? I adjusted the idle screw correctly for starting adjustements, two turns in, and the misture screw is 1 1/2 turns out. It was way out of wack when i fouled the plugs. Should I wait to change the carb since I've adjusted the screws, give it a minute and then check the new plugs again?

Don't mess with the carbs until you know what is happening with the timing and compression.

Get a compression tester and a strobed timing light. After you're sure you have good compression and your timing is correct, then worry about fueling.

Compression test the old fashioned/maybe stupid way!

Well timing is good. I didn't have a light so I used the ohms meter, learning new stuff all the time. It looks good, as soon as I got a reading the "F" mark was right in line with the other mark. Picture attached.
So i took a look into the carbs and my left carb was open quite a bit when throttle closed. Balanced the carbs out and took off! I don't have a compression gauge so I thought I'd find out the old fashioned way and compression seems to be fricking awesome! Bike is alot faster than I expected! But it's not running good, and the plugs are still way too hot and plenty of fouling. I'm sure I burnt them both up testing compression.
So...nooowwww...I'm thinking I need to adjust the amount of fuel it's getting?
