Another cb 360t, but with a sexy twist.

I recently bought some Kevlar thread off eBay to repair some of my work and welding gloves.
Going to use some on seats though, ordinary cotton thread doesn't last long
Various other types of thread I've tried last 5~6yrs, hopefully Kevlar will be a 'permanent' solution?

I have never tried the Kevlar thread before... This thread is a wax nylon thread, its used for leather sewing especially moccasins and other leather, from my experience it has proven pretty heavy duty... However on that note I don't now how it will hold up to the elements. Let me know how that kevlar thread works I would be interested in looking into that route.

I'll be testing it on welding gloves, the stitching isn't so good on the cheap ones, thumb seam opens, I get burned (although the $25.00 ones did the same  )
I'll be able to get a better fit though ;D

I think you'll be good with the nylon thread. My mom did automotive upholstery for about 15yrs. She used nylon thread for that and it's almost indestructible. You can give the cotton or silk thread a little tug and break a piece off but if you try to do that with the nylon thread, sometimes you cut yourself with it, but it never breaks lol. She did a lot of motorcycle seats and never got any complaints of them coming apart. And she did a couple for me and I still have them 20+ years later. Awesome build by the way! Love the color combo! Looks like an old VW color combo from the busses.

Make those welding gloves custom!

Chuck.leis--- Thank you for the information! Your mom sounds like a champ... upholstery is not easy
... I never looked at the color combo that way, but i totally dig it, its a clean look.

Reminds me of summer (Cannot wait to ride this baby)
