I have been lurking here for several years. Seen some very nice bikes and interesting threads. Like a lot of people I am just starting to ride again after 30+ years. My first bike was a SL 125 that I raked blueberries all summer to buy, lol. That bike took more abuse than any piece of machinery should ever have to. After that bike died I moved on to a Kawasaki KD 175. Then when I got my license I bought a Honda CB 500T. (Wish I had tucked that away for later) Anyway 30 some years later I was coming home from work and saw a bike in a snowbank with a for sale sign on it. Turned around and went back and saw it was a 78 GS 750. Three Ben Franklins later I was loading it into my truck. this is what it looked like. I got on GSR and learned what i should do to get it on the road. I adjusted the valves, they were a little tight and dipped the carbs and put new o rings in them. They still aren't quite right though. I know they should be synced. Hopefully I can get one before spring. Bought some Bridgestone Spitfires, new chain and sprockets. Rebuilt the brake calipers and put in new wheel bearings. Got some Hagon shocks and new progressive springs for the front with 15 weight fork oil. I just got some CBR brake rotors and Kawasaki twinpot calipers for a brake upgrade I learned on GSR. At this point I figure the best thing I can do is try to make it handle and stop as it goes fast enough to kill me as it is,lol. This is how it looks now. Even though my stock exhaust is serviceable I would like to get a 4 into 1. I really like the looks of those stainless Delkevic but they don't make one for the 8 valve 750's. I am not sure if the pictures I posted are going to make it as I am a technological dinosaur. Anyway, thanks for your time and I hope I haven't bored you all to death

Welcome from a few miles Northeast. Looks like you are addressing the right things in the right order. I love riding in Maine, there are some great roads.
