Any tips on pulling out a stuck stator?

I removed the OEM stator out of my cb750 and replaced with a new aftermarket stator. Only, the three yellow leads are all showing continuity to ground, which i didn't figure until I blew a few main fuses and started looking for shorts.
I want to return it, but now I can't get the thing out of the cover (it was very tight going in and had to be cinched down slowly with the bolts). Anyone run into this before? Any suggestions for getting it out of the cover intact?
Thanks

Any pics of the problem?

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but a lot of places won't accept electronic equipment. Hope this isn't the case.

Yeah it's a case of buyer beware with a lot of these things but never fear, post up some pics and let us know what sort of bike it was intended for and you never know, you may be able to onsell to another forum member if they won't return it.

The return is the easy part, i have already worked that out. It's getting the stator out of the cover. It was such a tight fit getting it in that it doesnt want to come back out. The stator is no good so i wouldnt want to sell it to anybody here. All three yellow leads are grounded and they shouldnt be.
Thanks

Set cover on a hotplate, it reaches about 180~200 f when on engine so wont be a problem
Should then be able to 'shock' it out by 'bumping' it on a block of wood (use inertia of stator, its relatively heavy)

check your wiring,,,,,,why would 3 wires go to ground  it's a stator it receivies magnetic pulses from the rotor..which in turn are rectifide (ac-dc)..and then regulated

Because of the way they are wired, only one needs to ground (insulation breakdown) then, they all ground
Probably a good idea to check you have wiring correct though, common to fit sprocket cover and cut through alternator leads (which won't be covered under any warranty)

Wiring seems to be good. No cuts or frays. I'll have to try the heat. Otherwise, i guess i'll have to take the cutoff wheel to it.
