Anyone around Staunton, waynesboro, charlottesville, harrisonburg va?

Just looking for anyone in the area who likes to ride. The parkway is awesome until the leaves start to change then it get a little crowded, some friends and I have all kinds of day rides, half days and just buzzing around almost one day every weekend. Just let me know if you want to join.

Are you near Skyline Drive? My wife and I were going to make a weekend trip down there, and were wondering how crazy it gets Labor Day weekend?

Yup, only about 15 min from it. It usually doesn't get to bad until the leaves start changing color then it gets kind of crowded.

Well we did end up going down there Labor Day weekend, but didn't ride.....

It wasn't too crowded, but to be expected the traffic didn't exceed about 35mph. It would be an awesome road if there wasn't any traffic!

Next time let me know, there are quite a few roads that lead off the parkway and are easy to get back on. I could have given you a few and you could have had some fun with your car. Where is that picture taken?

Thanks for the suggestion, and I'll definitely ask about those other roads the next time we head down. We actually did have a good time -- went to Staunton, saw a Shakespeare play at the Blackfriars, wandered around Staunton, then headed over to Montpelier for the day. It was a very enjoyable trip, but yes, would have been great to tear up Skyline Drive in the Cayman!

As far as where that shot was taken - oh, at one of the many pulloffs on Skyline Drive (on the right side as you're heading south). Can't remember which one.

I have been to Blackfriars a few times, its a very nice place, if you like theater, literally just up the road from my house here in Verona there is an outdoor place called Oakgrove, the Hotel beside Blackfriars, Stonewall Jackson, is also very cool, there Sunday brunch is excellent . There are lots of bars and restaurants downtown. If you head down this way again and want some more info just pm me or something.
