Anyone ever owned an Egg (Previa)

I used to really want a previa, slammed and on the VIP side!!! The super charged ones are awesome, i beleive they have a shaft driven alternator that wears out and gets expensive to replace so make sure you check it out. I think it would work for bike hauling... with low bars anyway, set of apes probably wouldn't go!! lol

A freind of mine uses a newer chevy van in contractor trim with a v6 to move bikes and it works great, we've also used a astro van!!

How'd the Astro work? Could you close it up without putting your chin on the steering wheel? What kind of bikes? MPG? Why'd you feel the need to go bigger?

i know a guy with an astro that hauls bikes... he can fit my dads shadow in their with room to spare... two race bikes shouldnt be any problem at all.

gutted of course... but great vans none the less.

The astro worked ok, fit 2 cb400's without issue. More availability than a need to go bigger. I'm not sure on MPG

Have you considered an old step van? It's definately different, can be had with a diesel, and lots of room to spare. You can probably get a decent runner for a decent price, and a lot of them have aluminum bodies. It'd be easy to put a little work bench in one. Lot's of ad space too, haha. This one's a bit long, but they make shorter one's (I think pimp my ride did one).

This is what I was thinking...Minus the Harley stuff

Oh yes, I have absolutely considered step vans, I've wanted one since I was in school

I was thinking something like this though:

The problem with those though is that usually they have very small doors in the back, they're not really long highway material, and that would take time away from my bikes rather than give me more.

Keep the Ranchero.... or sell it to me... i love that year/body

saw an awesome Step-van at a Bike swap here... amazing.

Yay! Previa forum!

I'm still undecided though.

anyone seen the episode of Top Gear where they race minivans?

" and I have a toyota previa. Its mid-engined.... like a Ferrari..."

hilarious

oooh! If i do end up getting one, I'll have to make a "Historic People Carrier Racing Championship" sticker to put in the window.

:)

What's unfortunate about that?

If I painted my van like that would I automatically be able to build a tank in 30minutes in a dark garage out of a sheet of plywood and a self propelled lawn mower?

ive got a dodge sprinter with the mercededs turbo diesel, well my work does. but i get to take it home. its a great vehicle and gets 22 mpg all day long. pretty pricey so im sure its out of the question. they claim the motor is a 500,000 mile motor. but the warranty is crap. 36,000 miles. i used that up in less than a year. have 70,000 on it in 2 1/2 years. and a buddy had a old unimog. top speed was 35mph. but it did move thru or over anything in its way..fun vehicle if ya got some tromping grounds to play in. cant go wrong with a panel van, ford, chevy, or dodge. my friends have toured in them all.

Yeah, but bad 80's theme music would be stuck in your head full time...

hmm, i'd throw in a JDM mitsubishi delica 4x4 Van, 2.5L turbo diesel that seats up to 8...

previas are nice, had a buddy that drove his to panama from ontario to film a travel show, but he really shoulda brought a diesel landcruiser with more clearance for the rougher stuff...

but for haulin stuff and good mileage, i've only heard great things about 89 to 92 dodge cummins pickup, amazing on diesel and hauls arse no probs...

wow, those step vans are really cool. But ya, for long highway hauls it would seem that youd be better off with something else.
