anyone ever used moto recycle now? for obtaining a title

Ye dos I've used this company twice now. Justin does exactly what he says he will do. in about 4 weeks I received transferable paperwork in the mail and have been riding no problem. Even sold a bike with no issues.

Might just look at what your state needs first before looking at a place like that. Not knocking anyone, but some states will refuse a transfer of title IF said piece of paper is not present, no matter where it comes from and no matter what type of other paperwork you have. I know I tried.

I live in Oklahoma and this state has a LEGAL process called Title 42 that takes about 6-8 weeks in which you basically advertize that you are buying a bike and if the previous ower sees said ad they can come claim the bike or get you your title. IF after 2 weeks, they don't then you basically can put a mechanics or storage lien on the bike and then post THAT information in the same area as before. It goes another 2 weeks or so. After all that, if no one responded to any of the adds then you can file for fresh title paper work at the state using all manner of documents and such. It is a PAIN IN THE ASS but if done by yourself, it will just cost the amount for the listings in the papers, and the paperwork processing fees.

OR I can pay a title agency to do all the mess for me, and they return all the paper work that will allow me to walk into my DMV with said bike parked outside. Hand paperwork, get VIN inspection, plates, and title sent in two weeks and the 120 fuking dollars it takes to get all that done. But it is 100% legal, and gives them no reason to say no.

Texas allows for bonded titles which is easy to google. Matter of fact MOST states have processes for this type of thing, and if you live in one that doesn't, good chances a neighboring state will.

And if at any time during that process, the person that still might have a title shows up and wants to be a dick about it, then SINCE you did it the legal way, you can charge (or sue) them for STORAGE and REPAIR of said vehicle at cost for parts and labor as well.

I used them recently to title a bike from the 60's. Cost me a total of $230. Got the tags in the mail along with the paperwork 4 weeks later just like he said. Sold the bike a week later. Owner has already tagged it in Texas.
