Anyone have seat suggestions???...

I am accumulating parts for my CB 360 cafe project and was wondering what was a good seat to buy. I'm using the stock tank with knee indentations made (hammered) in. I'd like the seat to not rise vertically above the tank which rises about 7" above the frame, and I prefer one with a smaller, rounded or cone-shaped tail. Any suggestions? Also, on a side note, I'm thinking of purchasing some Tarozzis to put on the rear pegs, but I'm on a very low budget. Is the bike ridable with Clubmans and a solo seat without rearsets, or is that really uncomfortable? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Matt

I'd like to spend no more than $150 for the seat itself and am still looking for a good deal on the tarozzis. Thanks again.

the junk yard tank i dea is cool in my opinion. also florist foam and fiberglass if you want to shape it yourself. you can always use regular open cell foam and shape it, then recover. carpy has done some custom seats on stock pans that way that i think have looked pretty good.
as far as rearsets, how tall are you. that seems to be the determining factor for alot of people. but i've never sat on a 360, so i am not sure how small the frame is (or isn't). you may also look into converting modern sport bike rear sets to your frame.

I'm 5' 11", so the 360 is a little small on me, but I only weigh in at 153, so it carries me prety well. Rearsets may be a good idea. I should look into ones off another bike...good idea. I live in Georgia, and I think that there's a motorcycle salvage yard around here somewhere. I went to a junk yard this weekend looking for inspiration, but didn't see much. I'd like to build my own but don't know if I'm ready to tackle glass work yet. Perhaps metal and then take it to a shop to get welded...we'll have to see. I don't much care for the seats on stock pans. I thought about that route but want something a little lower to the frame. Thanks again, and please keep the suggestions coming.

I havent ridden yet, but just from sitting on my bike in the garage with the stock handle bars upside down (to mock up something similar to clubmans/clip ons) I felt pretty awkward with the stock controls. However when I placed my feet on the passenger pegs, it felt pretty good.

As for the seat I think making your own is the most economical approach and you can get exactly what you want. However for the sake of getting my bike on the road Im going to be purchasing a seat as well. Later down the road Ill try my hand at fiberglass. Also I completely agree about the stock pan seats, they just seem to sit really high on the bike.
