Anyone interested in some anodizing?

Been Around the Block
So I have been looking at other things in addition to my custom painting to supplement my income and I have decided on custom anodizing. I am ordering the setup this week so within the next few weeks I should be comfortable enough with it to start taking orders. I plan to do mostly paintball guns, as this is an extremely popular application and also the most profitable. However, there are tons of parts on a motorcycle that would be great candidates for this treatment as well.

As many of you know, anodizing is an electro-plating process for aluminum that grows a super thin (.0005"-.001") layer of aluminum oxide into the surface of the aluminum which is harder than steel. This layer can the be dyed a multitude of colors, creating a beautiful, yet very hard finish. I won't be able to do large parts, but things like triple tree clamps, clip ons, rear sets, brake drums, wheel hubs, etc. will be no problem.

Just wanted to see if there would be some interest on here, as we are all looking to set our bikes apart from the rest of the pack. I haven't figures out a pricing structure yet, but it would be very reasonable (especially as I'm just starting out). So let me know what you guys think. You opinions really mean a lot to me, and I look forward to hearing your feedback.

I personally think that anodizing would be very popular! When you get it going please post some photos for us and maybe some basic pricing, I understand pricing would possibly vary greatly dependant upon what our particular needs would be, but for instance how much a triple clamp would be could give us an idea of pricing.

Brother I wish you the best of luck in your new business venture and feel you will do very well! I have a few parts I may like to have done!

I think you could do good with something like that. With all the parts people are making on here. What colors are you starting out with?

thanks for the responses guys! Well I ordered the kit and I must say, I am damned excited to get it. I ordered black, blue, yellow, red, green and brown. I figure between those colors, I should be able to mix pretty much any color I can think of.

Joey, from what I have seen, I would think a triple tree clamp anodized one color raw (not polished) would be somewhere in the neighborhood of $25-$35. polished would be more because of the extra work involved. But I have to say, the raw look (also commonly referred to as "dust anodizing") looks really sweet.

I'll let you know when I get all set up and operational and I'll get pics up soon I do some practicing.
