Anyone tried a Bandit knock off from Taiwan?

I keep seeing these Simpson Bandit knock off helmets on eBay. Bids sell for around $100, BIN sells for around $150 with free shipping. Apparently they're DOT certified... I'm worried to spend $150 and get something super cheesy looking/feeling. I'm worried the sizing will suck and I'll have a huge nightmare trying to exchange it across the planet...

Anyone here tried them? Check out eBay seller stf8882 to see what I'm talking about...

Meh. For $150 you could buy a real (used) Simpson. Probobly still safer than these.

if you were going as The Stig for halloween, sure. If you're going to wear it on the road, no. I doubt the helmets FAILED the DOT test, but that they were never tested to begin with. If the company is too cheap to put their helmets through the DOT testing process, what other corners are they cutting?

Frankly I have no reason to expect that any of their helmets are more or less safe than anything else with a DOT sticker on it. If you want to be assured that someone has tested your helmet to a safety standard, go SNELL or ECE. A DOT sticker doesn't mean that anyone actually put the helmet through any sort of testing.
