so i trade a pair of handle bars for adjustable clubman bars. i think they are from omars. but i have on concern. im a little scared of the bars coming lose. they have a pretty big bolt to tighten the bars in position but my conern is if i have to make a hard turn to get out of the way what if the bolt come lose or something like that. i was also going to put red thread locker on the bolts also. ive never used thread locker so i dont really know strong it really is. or is there anything stronger that i could use? thanks alot!
I actually put a couple hundred miles on those before we traded bars. I took them off not because there was a problem with them, I just don't like clubmans.
I believe the mating surface between the handle part and the base is knurled (double check that though). The larger bolts have tremendous threads on them - so don't be afraid to crank them down. There are also some smaller set screws to hold those larger bolts in solid. And I recommend against red loctite - the blue stuff would hold it very well.
