Are the capture pieces on the bottom of the forks oriented?

Slantyface

Been Around the Block
Like the topic says. I took the front wheel off of my 78 CB550K to change the tube. The two retaining pieces off of the bottom of the forks might have gotten mixed up in the process. One says A and one says B and both have arrows pointing forwards. Visually they look the same, but I'd prefer to err on the side of caution.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks guys.

Just came out of different dies when cast. As long as you tighten 'arrow side' first it shouldn't matter which side you put them on
There may also be a punch mark under the washer denoting 'front'

Thank you! Since I'm the paranoid type I'll now have to go back and re-tighten them to make sure I do the front first.
Thanks again!

Yep, you shouldn't have a gap at front. Kawasaki and Suzuki have even gps on axle clamps (and handlebar clamps)
Honda always have one side 'flat' with gap at rear (although early CB750 say to have gap at front as the force pushes axle backwards)
Main problem with that though, water insects and crap gets in the gap and causes stud to corrode so they switched to gap at rear
