Finally bit the bullet and started the wiring yesterday.

Oh yeah! And I've even had the hard stuff done and had the harness made for me. So it's just a game of what goes where.

Oh no doubt! Yesterday totalled 5 hours in the garage, 4 of which I was just staring at the bloody thing!

Hey Ben,
No, not dead. Just sleeping. I'm getting ready for a couple of big days to get it to test-rideable stage soon so stay tuned.

Well it's been a crazy six months, I've moved out of Sydney and into the country for a new job. The new job has me training full time with varying hours so the bike has well and truly been neglected.
The final push came from my wife poking fun at me saying that it would never get done.

So the sleeves were rolled up, and the head scratching started. But I now have a powered bike with almost everything wired up.

All that's left to wire is the alternator, spark units and pulse generator.

The massive win from the weekend is that I've managed to get full functionality from the GSXR hand controls.

I'm so motivated that I've even started calling around to find local fibreglassers who can quote up the seat pan and hump.

Front brakes also now filled and bled. Was a pain in the ass trying to prime the master cylinder and ended up pre filling the hoses to save hours more of pumping the bloody lever.

Alternator, spark units and pulse generator are all now wired up. I was excited to get the fuel in and see what happened.... Alas she won't fire.
The two big issues were a leaking set of O rings on the fuel delivery pipe on the carbs, so off they came and that was sorted. The second and more concerning issue is questionable timing and or shimming on the inlet valves which is giving me compression blowing out through the carbs. I'm waiting on some free time and I'll start from scratch on confirming the timing and checking the valve clearances.
I certainly expected teething issues towards the end, but I would love to find something obvious soon so that I can press on. I can't wait to hear her fire up for the first time!
Stay tuned!

Matt
