GREAT SITE!

I have recieved a 72' Cb350 twin in a swap that is a total basket case, that i am going thru.

Here in Indiana you can register a bike as an ORV, (off road vehicle) thru the DNR,( instead of the licence branch) and you can ride the burm of roads like a snowmobile, without the indiana bike licence or plates.
All you need is a tail/brake light, and a headlight dusk till dawn.

I raced flat track in the 70's, and I am inspired to go back to "do the ton"=fun!

So........ I am building a enduro/dirt track style to carve up the backroads as a fun work transport.

I can't find any stock tank rubber knee pads for a 62' CL72 tank for the style I am going for, but other than that I am getting the parts together slowly but surely.

Bead blasted jugs/sidecovers, etc to prepare the motor for build-up.

I will have some parts left over, so I will be watching the buying/swapping pages for needs of others to help out.

Ride-on!

Welcome to the site John! I gotta ask, any pics? I'm interested as to how this turns out.

Welcome from another Indiana Member, just north of Ft Wayne!
Sounds like a nice project you got there... do you suppose they are going to require you to put those big ass offroad numbers on your bike?

To check out the legal stuff for ORV cycles click around at: http://www.in.gov/dnr/outdoor/4229.htm

No title for bike...just a legal indiana bill-o-sale, (available to copy online from the BMV!)...no plates/cycle licence, no turn signals, and no headlight needed during the day,.
(Just headlight/tail from dusk till dawn.)
This helps out the battery life on these old cb350's, because they don't charge worth crap at idle!) You just need a brake light full time.

Steuben county roads are closed to riding down the lane of the road.
I can only ride a road with a wide dirt burm, or a wide tar burm...on the outside of the white line, or of course in the grass ditch.
Every city/county has different laws, so do some checking in your area before building up a backroad blaster for yourself!

I'll try to post pics when the grandaughter brings her camera around.

Ride-on!

(It is the same as registering/riding a snowmobile because of the speed involved.)
