Not that I know of. I think my only option is to go to court and try to have the charge reduced.Wingspan said:Does your area have any kind of deferral program?

Juggernaut said:BS. The main reason we have speed limits is for revenue. Montana did away with speed limits during the daylight. You know what happened...car crash occurrences dropped dramatically. When they reinstated then speed limit car crashes became more frequent. This doesn't mean driving 30 over is ok but there are instances when it is acceptable. I'm sick of the people who say it's for your own good.
Compared to most people I drive "like a crazy person". I've been in two "major accidents". One was with a buddy when someone in front slammed on their brakes for someone doing a quick lane change. The second was when someone pulled out in front of me without looking. Neither or them where my fault and I was driving responsibly in both instances.
Be careful with the lawyer. They don't do much for speeding tickets. They are most valuable when confronted with a DUI. I had a lawyer work for me. $550. He got 18points off my record and I had to pay a few bucks extra to the state. I then screw up a few more times and end up in the same situation. 18 points and a driving while suspended. Most think a lawyer is beneficial in something like this. I went to my court date got a "fire and brimstone" 1 year possible suspension $5,000 fine crap from the judge. Weeks later I sit down with the prosecuting attorney. Before I say a word he tells me the state will drop 15 points off the record and drop my $250 ticket to $225. I didn't ask him or the state for anything before this meeting. It's all for them to make money. IT'S BULLSHIT! The whole system is for the suckers created by lawyers.
Side note: the people in jail went first in court. The judge presented them with a $10,000+ bail then asked them if they could afford it. The first one said no. The judge dropped it to less than $1,000. then asked them if they could afford that. The defendant said yes. Judge set the bail to $1,000. Done. Next. There is no justice just a sick way of making money off bad decisions. It really saddens me.
/rant. Carry on. ;D
You're not an asshole Louie, maybe someone just pissed on yer Cherrios that morning .Swapmeet Louie said:The title of this thread lead me to believe that when I clicked on it, I was going to read about something bad that happend that was out of his control. And thats simply not the case.

But while you're at it, review the original post too. Just three simple lines: what happened, what it might cost me and what I might do about it. No bitching, moaning or complaining. No excuses. No big rant about how I didn't deserve it, the cop was an asshole, there shouldn't be speed limits, yaada yaada yaada.
Just trying to share a little of my motorcycling life with my DDT brothers.
So go easy on me Louie, I'm sensitive. ;D
