Anyone using one of these? they are rated at 8AH so should be ok for the CB360, any thoughts???

They're lithium ion. Don't use one unless you upgrade your voltage regulator to a more modern offering. You'll cook it inside a couple of months, otherwise.

I think for the most part you just need a consistent reliable feed to the battery. Story is they're more sensitive to swings in voltage that a worn our regulator or rectifier could cause. Swapping out for solid state alternatives to the regulator/rectifier is never a bad idea in any case.

What is the voltage reading you get at the battery when the engine is at idle, and when revved?

FWIW I have a Shorai in my XS650 that's working great, using a new integrated regulator/rectifier unit. I got lucky and won another Shorai for my BMW R75 (they ran a contest and selected a random post on their Facebook page and incredibly I actually won!) and I bought a 12 cell Ballistic recently to put on the XS650 so I can install the electric starter again. The small Shorai I have on it now will go to another bike I have.

I think those are LiFePo4 batteries, which don't have the discharge rate of Li-ion or Li-poly batteries, but also aren't as sensitive, I have one and have no problems with it, the regulator on the 360 is solid state and pretty good at keeping voltage under a dangerous level, there's a trim pot on the regulator too so you can adjust it

Thanks guys, they do state these as being Li-ion so I think I will get a new regulator/Rectifier just to be safe, question is what do I buy, does it matter, I think I will ask a sparky as they may be able to help

Thanks

i just ordered this battery, i have the solid state radioshack rectifier and a new bosch vw regulator, i also have an adjustable constant charge unit, should i have it set to charge at the 13.6 volts?
