im thinking of trying to put turn signals in the back of some bar end mirrors. i need to know if any of you have bar ends that you can take the mirror out of.
this is the concept, but i would use different lights.

If you ever find some mirrors to modify signals onto you then have to figure out how to route the wires through the handle bars. I looked forever for someone who already made some bar end mirrors with signals but had no success so I gave up on the idea. Good luck to you though, I'd love to see someone come up with a functional design.

Routing the wires is no problem! No worries there. I have never thought of this before, but if you find some mirrors with signal in them you like, and they attatch in a ball joint, just use that joint and change it to a set of ball joint bar end mirrors! Use the mounts from bar ends with ball joints, to the mirrors that are post mount with ball joints, simply use the combonation of mounts and mirrors you desire! Ball joint mirrors are typically universal in joint size!

using integrated mirrors and then reconfiguring the mounting isnt a bad idea. i was hoping that on some of the bar ends you could just pop out the mirros then drills some holes for LEDs and glue the mirrors back in. concealing the wires could be a bit tricky, but the wires are small and making them disappear can be done. im more worried about being able to get the mirrors out of the mounts.

This is a good idea. It isn't expensive to have an auto window shop replace broken mirror. Call one up and ask, then you can just break the mirror, get 14 years bad luck ;D then wire up the lights and have the shop cut and replace the mirror glass for you. I broke a mirror on my civc and I think it was like 15.00 to replace the glass. So if you have a set of bar ends you like the look of for maybe 30?? you could remove an replace the mirror. Just a thought.

I'm kinda interested to see how well this turns out. DCM, if you have some original mirrors laying around, I'd say try to pop them apart first.

Might have to try this myself tomorrow....
