Mad Science!
DTT BOTM WINNER
Okay, so we're getting very close to Barber's, and I want to get a definitive head count on who is coming. I also want to get a game plan on where people are staying, and how we want to meet up.

As some of you know, and some don't probably, I will be opening my home up to the DTT crew for the night time festivities after Barber's closer the gates each evening. Any of you that want to stay here are more than welcome to camp in my yard. I have over 10 secluded acres here, and the camping will be pristine with no hassles...and FREE. I live 5 minutes from Barber's speedway, so it will be very easy to get back and forth to the going on's.

The way I figure I'll do it, is we'll all pitch in for dinner each night. I figure burgers and dogs one night, pizza another. We'll all divy it up accordingly depending on who is eating and what not. I will have some beer here, but BYOB of course to keep the fountains flowing. It'll be a family friendly atmosphere, but we'll have a good time nonetheless!

So here's what I want to do. I'll try to get a poll at the top of the thread for a head count. This'll give me an idea about how many people will be crashing at my place, and how many will be elsewhere. If you're bringing a bike, bring tools, because you know we'll have to fix something, and my shop isn't at my house. I will be setting up several pop up canopies to work on bikes under with lights.

IF you want to bring a grill, etc. feel free! Any food or beverages are welcome. I've got 2 showers inside for those who feel like bathing, but my house is very small, so there isn't a lot of room in here, so I'll be camping with you fellas!

I figure we'll all eat while at the festival for lunch, but I'm not opposed to doing biscuit runs or cooking pancakes in the morning for breakfast.

I am sure I forgot a few things, so let me know any additions.

Last but not least, BUY YOUR TICKETS NOW! The prices go up after October 1st. For anyone who wants to see my house location, the address is:

1824 Park Ave.
Moody, AL 35004

***poll is up. Let me know where you're staying, and put in a reply when you'll be arriving, and who plans on partying with the cool kids at my house, but are not sleeping here.

Well you just talked to me, but just to let you know I have voted and I will be crashing your pad! Let me know if I can bring anything else.

Can't wait...its going to be a blast!

Kiley, I'm in =) and will be staying at your place. I'm riding down, leaving early am on the 7th and if the gods of riding smile on me, will be there late thurs. night. THANKS

I'll know more Monday - my buddy Dave may not make it, but I'm still keen on coming. So I'll be flying solo from Toronto and will still do the Blue Ridge Parkway, at least I think I will. Or I may just blast it down there interstating it all the way.

Beatnic - where in PA are you starting from?

If I fly solo I may very well camp out at your place. I'm devoid of gear however. I can get something sorted between now and then. I do have a booking at the Sheraton in Birmingham for only $30 a night (Starwood points) so I may wimp out for sleeping and go there. But I'm down for dinners and meeting up in the morning to go to the festival etc.

Got my tix already including a parade pass for Saturday.

Tim...i'm in pittsburgh, you're more than welcome to crash at my place on the way down. I have some room to arrange my schedule, we could probably work something out to ride down. Let me know.

Do you mean you don't have camping gear, or you don't want to take gear with you on the plane. If you need gear I've got lightweight backing packing gear that I'm more than willing to loan you for this vacation. Since I can't go, might as well help out someone who is.

Kelly and I will be camping at your place. 8)
We are doing a weekend on Mt. Magazine this weekend, to get all the "bugs" out of our old camping stuff, and get edjumicated on the new stuff we bought. :D
We will be in the truck, so we can play rescue vehicle to anyone who breaks at the track.
We are both looking foreward to this a lot.

What route were you planning on taking down? If you're leaving on the 7th you must be shooting down pretty quick.

My buddy has pretty much given up hope that he can make it so I'm flying solo. I'm staring at maps now to see if I'm going to stick with the original plan or alter the route a bit. Was originally coming down through Altoona to Front Royal to take Skyline Dr and Blue Ridge to Cherokee NC and into the Deals Gap area. Then on to Leeds after a bit of riding on the Dragon and Cherohala skyway (although after 469 miles of BRP not sure I'll need more time on the twisties in the mountains).

You're doing the Pittsburgh - Leeds run in 1 day? 790 miles of interstate.

Re: Barbers! Who's coming, who's staying at my place, who's eating here? QUEST

Tim...i was originally going to leave on wed. and take two days to get there, but my buddie and his gf had to cancel. The Blue Ridge is a nice ride. Ill shoot you a pm.

So it's settled - I'm camping out at Kiley's. Just gotta make room on the bike for a sleeping bag etc.
