I would like to figure out a legit way to get titles for bikes i can find around my area in S/E Tennessee.

There are many here going low price NOT stolen :p and some have no papers.

What can I do? < resident of TN.

Start by doing a search here, topic is VERY common and a couple of legal solutions.
That said, every state is different when it comes to titles, some give them up pretty easy, some don't require them on older bikes, some it's like pulling teeth to get one so your screwed...
First thing I'd do in any state is have a Cop run a VIN check and make sure the bike is clear.

Ask Sonicjk for the pdf he sent me. But the vehicle in question has to be AT LEAST 30 years old...

I'd like a copy of that PDF too. I run into similar issues. Cheap bikes, no titles all around here.

Oh, sorry. Didn't notice that. I'm in NC. The DMV is past ridiculous here. I think they do it to keep old vehicles off the road, newer vehicle, higher taxes...

Used to be in the SCA, and the people from NC who came over to MS for events always had sub-10 year old vehicles. They said anything more than that was too difficult to tag there. One of my Navy friends couldn't get new tabs for his NC registered car, was told it was "too old" and it was 12. Had to license it in MS.

I have to get MS/AR plates for 5 (2 trucks, 1 VW Super beetle, 2 bikes) of my antiques to get around TN's stupid/restrictive antique tags regulations. Glad we have family property in both those states too...
