From there just a spot glaze & paint? Random thought. Has anyone ever done a intestine looking gas tank? Ive seen a profile av on here thats muffler bits all coiled up with mad bends. Might make a cool tank? Looking at that bike brought that idea up...maybe its the red

Seat looks good.

thanks on the seat, im going to finish it this week hopefully. how do you guys usually mount them?
ive got a few ideas but nothing super good yet.

I shaped some low expansion foam tonight, & found in some spots there were really big air pockets. Kind of sucked. I looked at florist foam, thats expensive! The low ex I think is a much more economical route. Spray it wild...let it sit overnight

i never checked how much $$$ the florist foam is. and definately let it sit overnight. are your hands as sticky and mine were, haha.
i just found out one of my friends used to build race ferrings for time trial road and recumbant bikes from carbon and glass. damn i wish i knew that before i made my seat, he had so many good pointers.

Not sure what constitutes expensive in terms of foam, but I picked up a pack of florist cubes last night for about $6 USD at Michael's. It looks like plenty to shape a bump stop, probably around 18"X6"X12", maybe a little more in four total pieces. A can of Great Stuff runs about the same at the Home Despot. I imagine florists can get more for the foam, so check a craft store if you haven't already.

Big up on the florist foam. Or...raid a dumpster behind a department store for styofoam.

Guess asking nicely for waste styro would also work...but I like being a seedy tool of ill-repute scavenger ;D

im happy every time i bolt something on to the frame, it makes it feel like ive accomplished something. so bolting the motor in feels great!

ok so i have it a snag in my build. the wiring harness wires are almost all the same color from ageing. and im having pluging in and testing to make sure it all works. so far i have a wiring diagram, a bikebandit fiche picture to help me lay the harness out correctly and thats about it. im just trying to see if the points do their thing when i turn the motor over. ive never worked on a motor with points before so i a little hesitant.

i know they are upside down. my valve spring tool would only compress them enough when they were this way. dont worry, i mic'd them and they are the same inner and outer diam top and bottom. they will work fine.

im having a problem with no spark. i asked in the help section, here is a link to that post. please help

Pj is right on that. That will cause major issues down the road. It's at the point now that it's easy to fix. I made a valve spring compressor for $10 out of a c clamp with a piece if tube. It's on my build page. Good luck and it's looking good.

i see. my original plan wat so make one out of a C clamp and a O2 sensor socket but i saw this one for less than the cost of the C clamp, damn. i wish i made the clamp type first. oh well.

thanks for that info.

this is the style compressor i used. the coils were too tight to fit the arms in :(
i have to pull the motor to get the head off dont i. weak sauce. oh well, ill never make that mistake again.

true. my friend just called to borrow a grinder so i said sure, but when he got to my house i had him do some heavy lifting. haha good timing, or bad depending on whose perspective.

she runs! i flipped the springs the correct direction in the head. thanks for the info on them. put it back together and pushed the run button and it runs.

im glad. now im just waiting on some spokes from buchanan and then i can build up my rear 17" wheel and take it for a break in ride.

i haven't posted in a while but im working on the bike again.

i put a GSXR 750 fork on.

and made an exhaust too.
